My love of sapphires started when I was 12 years old when I cut my first sapphire. I must admit my passion for gemstones has increased in the 30+ years since then and the thrill I get from faceting a sparkling gem from a rough stone cannot be described. As a teenager, school holidays and weekends were taken up by prospecting for sapphires and over the years I built up a substantial supply.

My digging and cutting had to take second place after marrying Toni, starting a business and raising a family of 4 girls. After a few years to be able to continue faceting a supply of rough sapphires was sourced by the purchase of large parcels and by these means I was able to select a few stones to facet and local facetors had the opportunity of gaining stones.

Having many friends in the gem business and the ability to sell stones locally it was envisaged there must be many other cutters that do not have the opportunity of purchase of which I have. So this Internet site was set up to avail rough and finished stones to many more people at a reasonable price.
